Zygomatic Implants
You Do Have Enough Bone for Dental Implants
Our oral and maxillofacial surgeons have never turned away a patient only because of bone loss. Thanks to modern advancements in the field of zygomatic dental implants, patients who have been told they are not candidates for conventional dental implants or must settle for dentures can be treated successfully by New Teeth Now surgeons. There are few surgeons in the world who have the skills and qualifications to competently place zygomatic implants. We have some of the most experienced surgeons for this technique, on a daily basis providing this treatment to patients who suffer from severe bone loss.
Designed specifically for patients with bone loss, zygomatic implants are tilted and much longer than those used in traditional dental implant procedures. While traditional implants are placed in the jawbone, surgeons utilize the zygomatic implant’s length to securely place them in the patient’s cheekbone (zygoma). The zygoma is a very dense bone and provides excellent support for the lifetime of the patient.
Zygomatic Implants: Our Specialty
Very few surgeons in the world routinely place zygomatic implants, but at New Teeth Now our surgeons are some of the best in the world, placing zygomatic implants daily for over fifteen years. During your consultation, your New Teeth Now surgeon will discuss options with you and determine whether zygomatic implants are the best solution. Zygomatic implants are one of the reasons New Teeth Now can be done in one day for patients who have been turned away by others due to severe bone loss. Because there is no bone grafting, there is an extremely high success rate. When placed by an experienced oral surgeon, they are safe, and have given thousands of people all over the world their lives back.
Bone Grafting Vs. Zygomatic Implants
If you are considering dental implants, but have been told that you are not a candidate, zygomatic implants are likely a better option. If you have severe bone loss, you’re probably a candidate for zygomatic implants, as compared to a procedure like bone grafting that has a much lower success rate. With zygomatic implants you will have teeth placed the same day as the procedure, whereas with bone grafting you will wait months for healing before having fixed teeth.
Before zygomatic treatment options were available, the only option for patients with bone loss in the upper jaw was to undergo a bone grafting procedure, which commonly takes six months to a year before implants could be placed. Zygomatic implants placed by New Teeth Now surgeons have an extremely high success rate, one of many reasons patients have flown to New Teeth Now from all fifty states. Daily, the oral surgeons at New Teeth Now successfully provide patients with full mouth restorations in one day and with no bone grafting.
Will Zygomatic Implants Hurt?
Patients experience no pain while having zygomatic implants placed during the New Teeth Now procedure, because they are asleep under general anesthesia during the entire procedure. Along with the surgeon, a certified anesthesia professional (CRNA) monitors patients during surgery. Whereas extractions and placing implants can be an uncomfortable experience when using IV sedation and local anesthesia, our use of general anesthesia means our patients will sleep through the entire process, allowing them to wake up ready for the placement of their new fixed teeth. It is the safest and most comfortable option for full mouth restorations. Pain prescriptions are available to help with recovery, but there is minimal post-surgery pain with many patients only taking over-the-counter medications like Tylenol or Advil.
Replace All Your Upper Teeth
If you only need one or a few teeth replaced, this is not a solution for you. These specialized implants are life-changing for patients who have moderate, advanced and extreme resorption in the maxilla. In other words, zygomatic implants can replace all of your upper teeth despite having severe bone loss in your upper jaw. You can now get a new smile in one day with no need for bone grafts or sinus lifts.
Quick Recovery Time
Recovery from the zygomatic dental implant procedure is very similar to the traditional dental implant procedure. The ease of recovery surprises many of our patients. Some patients experience bruising around the lower eyelids. Generally, 3-5 days after the procedure you will be able to return to your normal routine.
Everyone’s dental challenges are unique.
